The Park Department staff empties the 170 green barrels found around town. In the summer we have seasonal employees to help with the demand; in the winter, when we have only a small full-time staff, many of the barrels are brought in for repainting and repair.
In general, fields are cut and maintained based on weather, manpower, equipment availability and the field usage schedules and on the season of play.
Recreation and Parks does rent out Judy and Gene Jacobi Community Center facilities, as well as, providing permits for certain outdoor spaces for up to 3 hours. To do so an application must be completed with the details of the event. Once that is submitted a staff member will check availability, reserve the space if available and reconcile payment. Any special requests for use of either an indoor or outdoor space must go to the Board for approval at their next regularly scheduled meeting.
