Payroll Office

The Payroll Office is responsible for processing the payroll for the Town, tracking of employee leave records, employee benefits (health insurance, unemployment & worker’s compensation), and various payroll deductions.

Direct Deposit of Employee Pay Checks

All employees must complete and return an Authorization Agreement for Direct Deposit Form available at the Payroll Office.

To all Town of Marblehead employees: Use the Authorization Agreement for Direct Deposit form to change your direct deposit account for payroll. Bring the completed form along with a voided check and your ID to the Payroll office at 7 Widger Road. If you do not have checks, you must bring documentation from your bank showing the full routing and account numbers for the account you would like to use. Frequently Asked Questions

When are town employees paid?

Town employees are paid every Thursday, with checks being electronically transferred to their bank account Thursday morning. Warrants authorizing the payroll are prepared each Tuesday for the approval of the town accountant and the Board of Selectmen.

When can current and retired employees join one of the Town’s health insurance plans?

Current and retired Town employees may become a member of one of the Town’s health insurance programs during the annual open enrollment period. Open enrollment for the Town is conducted in April and early May each year, with coverage beginning the following July.
