Established by the Select Board on June 25, 2025, by a vote to merge the Fair Housing Committee and Housing Production Plan Implementation Committee and establish it as the Marblehead Housing Committee.
Mission Statement
The Marblehead Housing Committee works to expand access to fair and affordable housing for all residents through education, advocacy, and strategic implementation. We help the public and town officials understand housing challenges and opportunities while developing and implementing programs that expand, enhance, and create fair and affordable housing options in Marblehead.
About the Committee
The Housing Committee is composed of residents, local stakeholders, experts, advocates, and officials appointed by the Select Board to provide leadership on housing issues. The Committee will steward the implementation of Marblehead’s Housing Production Implementation Plan by pursuing action items, monitoring progress, and building public support for necessary changes, including zoning updates and funding allocation. The Committee also promotes collaborative relationships with Town agencies and nonprofit housing partners to ensure broad and equitable access to housing in the community.
