The ADA Coordinator ensures that the Town of Marblehead complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other federal and state accessibility laws. The coordinator’s primary role is to support equal access to town programs, services, activities, and facilities for individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities Include:
- Monitoring and guiding the Town’s compliance with the ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Massachusetts accessibility regulations
- Responding to and coordinating requests for reasonable accommodations from residents, employees, and visitors
- Investigating accessibility concerns and working with departments to implement corrective actions
- Overseeing the ADA Grievance Procedure and ensuring appropriate resolution of complaints
- Assisting with physical and programmatic accessibility improvements across Town departments
- Supporting the development and maintenance of the Town’s ADA Transition Plan
