The Town of Marblehead is sharing the following information regarding Proposition 2 ½ override ballot questions to assist residents in casting informed votes.
The Town has dedicated a page on the website that now features budget presentations and documents for residents to easily access.
The town has proposed three tiers of overrides, with separate questions appearing on the Annual Town Election ballot on June 9.
- Question 1: $9 million, to maintain current services
- Question 2: $12 million, to account for anticipated increases
- Question 3: $15 million, anticipated increases and future investments
The page also features a calculator so that residents may estimate the impact of the town’s three-year phased-in budget plan, depending on each scenario.
Residents may vote for each question independently, with the majority of votes needed for that question to pass. If more than one question passes, the question with the highest dollar amount will be accepted.
Voters also will be asked to consider Question 4, a $2.3 million Proposition 2 ½ override to fund trash collection.
